Let's peep into the mysteries of three geniuses!

Some days ago, I saw a poster of a seminar in front of the literature college and it just caught my eyes with its attractive topic: “The Release of the Contemporary Human”.

Its purpose was to make a contrastive approach towards three geniuses of east and west; Molana, William Blake and Gibran khalil Gibran, about their points of view on several issues, like the pains of contemporary man, the discovery of self, and etc.

Since I was interested in such issues, mostly because we had similar discussions in our reading and comprehension class by Dr. Ghahremani, I decided to take part in that seminar and delightfully, act as a reporter for my audience on this blog.

Although the inconvenience of delaying in their program was not ignorable, but the abstract of the speech was so absorbing that was completely satisfying.

There were three speakers, which the most important one was Mrs. Dr. Soheila Salahi Moghadam, one of the Azzahra university professors, who delivered almost the whole lecture on contrasting the works of three above mentioned philosophers.

The most interesting and at the same time painful thing was that, the year 2007 is named for Molana Jalal-e-din Balkhi.

Now, the painful side of this nice choice is that UNESCO didn’t mention IRAN as a member of this appreciation. While Afghanistan, Turkey, and the most unbelievable one, Egypt- where is really far from the ancient Balkh, Molana’s place of birth- are considered as the members that can hold seminars on acknowledging his high rank! And reveal his ideas, since he’s belonging to them…

In this seminar, there was a chance to go hand in hand with each of those three high men in their chronologies of life, and pass the ups and downs of their thoughts and peep into the dark and light angles of their minds.

I don’t want to bore you by bringing all of their chronologies and histories, so I will put some links at the end if you are interested in knowing more about them.

But talking about their unity of thoughts about the pains inside human beings, they all agree that destroying of man is guaranteed if the materialism goes on with the same speed in the spirit of our lives.

Materialism can be broadly explained as the belief that physical things, like money and possessions are more important and are preferred to abstract things, like art, religion or moral beliefs and so on…

So this belief in the paintings of Gibran and Blake is imaged as the same with the words of Molana, where there is acute criticism on the chains of human which are preventing human to fly towards perfection.

They all picture the human beings as worms which are spinning cocoons around themselves, or like spiders which are spinning webs in the dark cave of materialism, without any bright sky and full of complex rocks that stand between them and their dreams of straw…
In their works there are full of evidences and subjects that are indicating to the downfall of human beings. Each of the subjects about useful or harmful imagination and love, and lots of other ideas that are presented in their works, is an individual world and needs divers to spend years, diving in the sea of their thoughts and discovering.



But in this limited opportunity, I can just put some pictures. The rest is up to you! If you are really concerned about the miserable flood of materialism which with its powerful waves is poisoning the mind and thoughts of the majority of people in our community, at least you can prevent yourself from drowning in its treacherous water; keep your eyes open, be alarmed, and ask God a real patience in communication with materialists and their glamorous traps …

Let’s see! What am I supposed to write...?

I feel as fresh as a new born child; just able to burst into tears, after facing the unknown world which is welcoming an alien!

I feel no better than that child; however, I’m burning in the fire of enthusiasm, eagerness, excitement, and impatience.

This sweet mixture of adventuresome feelings is such a gift for such an adventurer, and excitement seeker! So I guess I owe a real enormous “THANK YOU” to the reason of this lovely inside marathon of my thoughts, my professor dear Dr. Marandi, who motivated me and my other classmates to make individual weblogs as an assignment. And even before that I must thank God who loves me so much, showing me the way up to hills so explicitly.

It was actually for ages that my monotonous routine life with all its dull and boring elements was hardly laced with any novel, remarkable events. And this unwanted, annoying repetition was just racking my nerve.

For the kind of dreamy person that I am, there were always some tempting patches of sunlight, but I was too exhausted and lazy to get up and start.

Now, I feel a kind of extraordinary energy in my arms and sort of impatience for making my dreams come true; the dreams and plans that I have for this area of mine. But I guess I must learn patience and try to go step by step.

This page is going to be a place for my revealing of thoughts, beliefs, concerns, interests and anything you can think of… I have lots of ideas for this project and I am drowning in the whirlpool of these thoughts, since I do not know where to start.

Aside from our assignments, first of all I want to use this opportunity as a student of English literature from Azzahra University, and narrate the life of a typical college student of this major, in this university.

Then I am going to place some new ideas of definition and study of self that I have found out recently in my reading and comprehension class by Dr. Ghahremani ( of course I have asked permission in advance)

And at last my diary would show up.

Until now I couldn’t find any way for categorizing them and putting them in different archives but I hope I could find the way soon.

By the way, I wanted to write some poems of mine in this weblog, but since they were written in Persian I preferred to put them in another weblog that you can see its link in the link bar. Of course I will put them in this page as soon as I can translate them in an accepted form.

Oh! I were about to forget one important thing. In the link bar there is a nice link to IRAN in whatever field, history, literature, and etc. I wish you would enjoy it.
